Head of Trust & Estate Services

Leandro Vicuña, JD

For over 20 years, Leandro has provided trust and wealth management services for high net-worth individuals, business owners and nonprofit organizations. He coaches and mentors his team about fiduciary best practices and wealth transfer strategies to deliver meaningful fiduciary solutions to clients. Since joining Fremont Bank, he has implemented new strategic initiatives, expanded the footprint of Trust & Estate Services and revitalized collaboration between internal partners to deepen client relationships. Under his leadership, Trust & Estate Services has significantly grown and will continue to do so. Leandro earned his Juris Doctorate degree from Thomas Cooley Law School and his BA in law at UCSB. Leandro is also a graduate of Pacific Coast Banking School.

In 2016, Leandro was awarded with “Special Recognition from the California Senate” for his Innovative Youth Education Program. He was chairman of JUMA ventures advisory board, former board director of Hospice & Opening Doors, featured in “Top 100 Finance Magazine” and “Marquis Who’s Who” and awarded Presidents Club multiple years. Currently, Leandro serves on the board of Summer Search and Latinos in Finance. In addition, he is on the Advisory Board of Mainstreet Investment Advisors. He is passionate about serving the needs of his community and coaching youth sports.

Senior Trust Officer

Michael Turner

Michael has been doing consultative planning and wealth transfer work in the financial services industries for almost three decades. His experience also includes work as a Personal Financial Advisor for high-net-worth individuals, complex estate planning and business succession plans, and work as a Private Wealth Advisor, Client Portfolio Manager and Business Development Officer. He joined Fremont Bank in September 2022 as a Senior Trust Officer in Wealth Management & Trust Services.

Michael is passionate about having personalized discussions with clients about their vision for their estate and finding unique solutions to complicated estates and wealth transfer issues. Michael attended the University of Oregon and is a Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor (CTFA).

Trust Officer

Joanne Mina

Joanne Mina joined Fremont Bank as Trust Officer in 2021.  Mrs. Mina has over 15 years of trust experience where she handles complex accounts including revocable and irrevocable trusts, charitable trusts, special needs trust, investment management agency accounts and custodial accounts.

Mrs. Mina is a graduate of Personal Trust School from Cannon Financial Institute.  She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines.

Mrs. Mina is an active community volunteer with local non-profits such as United Way of Monterey County, Boys and Girls Club of Monterey County and The Salvation Army. In her personal time, Joanne enjoys running, long walks with their dogs and travelling.

Trust & Fiduciary Officer

Raul Barrera

For more than a decade, Raul has built a reputation for his work in the financial industry, focusing on wealth, trust, and fiduciary services. He has administered all types of trusts, including revocable trusts, irrevocable trusts, charitable trusts, pot trusts, Crummey trusts, special needs trusts, and irrevocable life insurance trusts, as well as handling characterization of property. His broad experience includes managing specialty assets, such as real estate and entities. Raul completed the Trust School program through the American Bankers Association and is a candidate for the Certified Trust and Fiduciary Advisor designation. He completed his studies in business administration with a psychology concentration at Golden Gate University and pursues continuing education programs through the Peninsula Estate Planning Council and Cannon Financial Institute.

As a dedicated community advocate, Raul coaches his son’s soccer team, supports his daughter’s gymnastics, and volunteers as a board member and treasurer of the Pacifica Education Foundation. He seeks to continue contributing to the community's prosperity through the empowerment of legacy planning.

Associate Trust Officer

Maiette Carino

Maiette has been in the banking industry for 13 years. She provides a wide range of administrative support to clients and internal colleagues. Her main focus is to ensure that client needs are met with utmost diligence and respect.

Maiette enjoys the outdoors and road trips. She loves to go hiking with family and friends. She also loves to cook and experiment with new recipes in her free time.

Carly Crumpton

Carly Crumpton is a skilled trust associate with over eight years of fiduciary experience. She has played a pivotal role in supporting trust officers and clients alike. In addition to her extensive experience gained as legal assistant specializing in estate planning, her expertise includes handling an array of administrative tasks and account maintenance with efficiency and precision. Carly is adept at collaborating closely with team members and clients to ensure seamless operations. She is committed to providing exceptional service to all clients.
