Associate Spotlight: Shefali Arora

Meet Shefali, a Fremont Bank Digital Product Manager who thrives on creating seamless digital experiences, driving impactful solutions, and empowering women through mentorship — all while diving into the adventures of The Shiva Trilogy and savoring classic vanilla-brownie sundaes.

How long have you worked at Fremont Bank, and what do you do here?

I have worked with Fremont Bank for five years now. I am a Digital Product Manager working on various client-facing and back-end projects. I support the Digital Account Opening platform, enabling clients to apply for consumer accounts online. I recently led a successful migration of the ACH Processing and Reporting software from a legacy system to a modern application. As a Product Manager, I collaborate closely with client-facing and back-end teams to identify operational gaps and partner with technology providers to implement effective solutions. I'm currently working on a couple of exciting payment processing projects, which continue to challenge and expand my expertise.

What do you enjoy the most about your job?

My role offers the opportunity to collaborate with diverse teams, managers, and executives across the bank — from operations and money movement to legal, compliance, and fraud management. I enjoy the mix of new challenges and continuous learning, while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Additionally, Fremont Bank has given me the opportunity to be part of its Women Mentorship program, which has been incredibly rewarding as it allows me to support and empower other women within the bank while working closely with the Women’s Leadership Forum of Fremont Bank.

What’s your greatest strength as a business professional?

My greatest strength as a business professional is my ability to bridge the gap between technical and functional teams. I bring a problem-solving mindset, collaborate effectively across departments, and customize technology solutions that drive efficiency and impact. My technical background allows me to translate complex requirements into actionable strategies.

What's your current watching, reading, or listening binge and what do you like about it?

I am currently reading The Shiva Trilogy by Amish Tripathi. It’s a series of three books rooted in Indian mythology. It’s a fiction series that reimagines the legend of Lord Shiva (a Hindu god) as a mortal hero. It blends mythology, philosophy, and adventure in a modern narrative. It aligns age-old principles and teachings into the modern world and also re-enforces their significance in our lives today.

If you were going to design an ice cream sundae with unlimited supplies, what would it look like?

I don’t like to mess around with my ice cream sundae. It’s simple — vanilla ice cream, hot brownie pieces, sliced toasted almonds, some chocolate sauce, topped with some whipped cream, and a blessing that the calories won’t count!
