Associate Spotlight: Alex Orenberg

Meet Alex, a true multitasker and team player who keeps Fremont Bank running smoothly behind the scenes. From leading the Desktop Support team to playing a mean banjo, this IT professional brings calm under pressure, a passion for collaboration, and a touch of musical flair to everything he does.

How long have you worked at Fremont Bank, and what do you do here?

I’ve been with Fremont Bank since 2016. I lead the Desktop Support team, where we handle Tier 2/3 technical support across the bank. I also assist with executive IT support, patching and endpoint security, manage our ServiceNow platform, and lead various department-wide projects.

What do you enjoy the most about your job?

I truly enjoy working with my team. We’ve built a strong foundation of trust and collaboration, and that makes even the most demanding days easier. We support each other and always find a way to get things done.

What’s your greatest strength as a business professional?

I stay calm under pressure and always follow through. I focus on doing things the right way and being someone others can rely on — especially when things don’t go as planned.

If you could instantly know how to play any instrument, what would it be? Why that one? Maybe you already play an instrument.

I’ve been playing drums since third grade and was performing professionally by sixth grade. Over the years, I’ve made it a goal to learn as many instruments as I can. So far, I play drums, piano, guitar, banjo, harmonica — and I sing. If I could instantly master one more, it’d be the harp. I grew up watching the Marx Brothers, and Harpo made it look both ridiculous and beautiful. That kind of contrast has always resonated with me.

What’s your favorite superhero or Muppet?

Captain America and Kermit the Frog — for the same reason. They both lead with integrity, stay calm in the middle of chaos, and never lose sight of what’s right. Cap once said, “Even if the whole world is telling you to move, it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree, look them in the eye, and say, ‘No, you move.’” That’s always stuck with me. And Kermit? He plays the banjo — just like me — and somehow keeps the whole show together with a smile (and the occasional meltdown). Both of them show that quiet strength matters.
