Building stronger community connections one partner at a time

As a community bank, we’re always looking for ways to listen and respond to community needs. Building strong connections between people of all ages and backgrounds makes for a more vibrant place for all of us to live, work, shop, dine, and relax.

Often, these great ideas come from partnerships with other civic-minded organizations and institutions. Curious how we take an idea into IRL? Here’s how we’re doing it with the Union City Police Department (UCPD) and how you can get involved!

National Night Out!

National Night Out aims at bringing people in neighborhoods and law enforcement together across the United States. This year's event was on August 2, 2022 at the Union Landing Shopping Center, and we had a blast partnering with UCPD to help create block parties full of fun family activities!

Shred it and forget it!

Something we like almost as much as a good block party is protecting your privacy. UCPD knew we’d make a great partner for a shredding event, offering a safe and secure way to dispose of sensitive documents.

We all know that a big part of keeping ourselves safe in today’s world means protecting our personal information from identity theft and cyber-attacks.

If you have personal documents you want to get rid of, we’ll see you on Saturday, September 24, 2022. Get all the information you need to participate at this link!

Let’s think ahead to the 2022 holidays!

We’ll also help UCPD make the holidays brighter for young children and families. In December, the police department will hold several events:

  • Ornament Party: Schoolchildren will discover creative activities, listen to Christmas stories and meet Santa Claus.
  • Shop with a Cop: Families in underserved areas of Union City will be chosen to shop with UCPD officers. We’re excited to provide food and activities, gift wrapping, and a special toy for the children to take with them.
  • Toy Drive Giveaway: UCPD will conduct a toy drive and provide Christmas gifts for children in underserved areas of Union City. We’ll provide food, holiday activities, music, and games.

Stay tuned for more information about these fun events.

We’re proud of how our partnership and steady commitment to these upcoming activities with UCPD ring true to our goals of empowering the communities we serve. We hope to see many of you at one – or all – of them.
