The Mayor’s Economic Forecast, hosted by the San Francisco Business Times, is a great opportunity for our team to stay on top of local trends and updates that impact the Bay Area and our clients. At the Jan. 31 event, San Francisco Mayor London Breed and Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf discussed the challenges their cities face during these fast-growing economic times.

According to the expert economic forecasters, our local economy is predicted to remain in an upward swing for the foreseeable future. The Bay Area continues to be one of the fastest growing in the nation and a leading innovation center for new economies. But alongside the exciting growth, homelessness and affordable housing remain top priorities for both Mayors. Strong demand and a slow supply response cause the housing shortage here to fester.

Our Commercial Lending Team, led by Jan Ford, Executive Vice President and Chief Credit Officer, and Don Marek, Senior Vice President of Commercial Banking, hosted a group of Fremont Bank clients at the event. With strong roots in the Bay Area, we were excited to be a part of this important conversation for the third year in a row.
