When you walk into Denica’s Real Food Kitchen, you get swept away by the smell of fresh baked goodies and the beautiful display case.
Denica’s, as it’s commonly referred to, is a family-owned and operated establishment that embodies the passion of its owners, Denica and James Freitas. This husband and wife duo were both raised in families where meal time was about connecting and showing love while eating real, homemade food. They want to bring that feeling to everyone who dines at Denica’s while focusing on quality food and exceptional service.
Since opening their first bakery together in Dublin in 1999, Denica’s has grown into a breakfast and lunch hotspot. They have expanded throughout the years, opening three more locations in Walnut Creek, Livermore and their newest location in Castro Valley.
Denica’s is known for their pastries, specifically their cookies, large cinnamon rolls and Belgian waffles. They’re also known for more savory items on their menu like eggs benedict, breakfast burritos, sandwiches and the complimentary chips and salsa bar.
The Freitas’s brought their banking to Fremont Bank nearly ten years ago after hearing about us from one of their patrons. Because they’re in the service industry, they had come to expect a better level of customer service that their big bank just wasn’t able to deliver. “We use Fremont Bank for personal and business banking. The people in the branches have always worked with us and gone above and beyond,” said Denica. Most recently Fremont Bank was able to provide the financing needed to expand in Castro Valley.
What’s next for Denica’s? With true entrepreneurial spirit, they are always trying new ways to improve the experience at Denica’s. Of course, we hope a new location in Fremont is on their horizon.
