Fremont Bank Foundation Awards $100,000 to Local Food Programs for the Holidays

FREMONT, Calif., December 7, 2015–Fremont Bank Foundation, a philanthropic arm of the Bay Area’s Fremont Bank, recently announced the recipients for its annual holiday grant program.  Each holiday, Fremont Bank Foundation supports select nonprofit organizations with grants to help them provide extra food and basic necessities to local residents and families in need. This year, Fremont Bank Foundation distributed $100,000 to support 23 local nonprofits that serve food or distribute food baskets year-round to those with the greatest needs in the communities the bank serves.

“I’m overjoyed to be presenting our largest amount of holiday grants this year to the local food pantries. The number of meals served by these organizations is at the highest this time of year and additional money is needed to purchase extra food to meet the demands”, said Hattie Hyman Hughes, president of Fremont Bank Foundation and executive vice president of Fremont Bank. “The Holiday Grants program is one way we help serve the families in need throughout our communities.”
