Security Alert – Heartbleed
The Heartbleed vulnerability on the internet is being widely reported. Heartbleed is a flaw in one of the SSL implementations that encrypt private data sent to secure websites that may give attackers the ability to capture passwords and other private data sent to secure websites that are vulnerable.
Heartbleed is not a threat to Fremont Bank. We have checked all of our systems and verified that data transmitted to us is safe and sound. Security is a top priority at Fremont Bank, we test all of our online systems regularly to ensure that they are secure and have verified the absence of this vulnerability on the Bank’s systems.
To help protect yourself against this threat, you should change your online passwords for websites where privacy and security are major concerns. However, you do not need to change your password for Fremont Bank because we were not affected.
