I’m Ashwin Ranganathan. I’m the marketing manager on the Residential Lending side of the business. I’ve been with the company for about two and a half years, and I’ve enjoyed my time here so far.
What makes Fremont Bank stand out compared to other companies you have worked for in the past?
I’ve been working in Marketing for about eleven years so far, so I’ve been with many different companies. Fremont Bank is the first company that I have been with that really feels invested in the community; I mean, it's a community bank, but the bank really goes above and beyond when it comes to investing in the community, whether it's park cleanups, whether it's being in cities, kind of giving back to the community in a number of different ways, you always feel like you’re giving back to the community more so than other companies. The philanthropy and support that the company gives to the community is also something that really stands out to me, whether it's the Walk to End Alzheimer’s, you know, cancer walks, things like that- it really makes you feel like you’re a part of something bigger.
How does it make you feel to be a part of the Fremont Bank family?
You really feel like you are contributing to more than just the bottom line. I mean, for a lot of companies that I’ve worked for in the past, it’s really about generating revenue and generating growth. At Fremont Bank, you really feel like you are doing that, but you’re doing a whole lot more. When you come to work every day; it’s just a sense of happiness, a sense of relief that you are working for a company that really is invested in you as an employee, but also as a person. So that really makes you feel good.
What is your favorite part about working here at Fremont Bank?
The best part about working with Fremont Bank is working with like-minded individuals. I mean, everyone that I work with is really invested in you as an associate, but also you as a person. When I first came to work with the bank, it’s been fantastic to get to know my co-workers. I haven’t really had an opportunity to do that. Fremont Bank really gives you that work-life balance that a lot of employees now crave, but are just unable to get. But at Fremont Bank, you really feel like you have that balance.
What is one stand-out memory from your time at Fremont Bank?
The first week that I came to the bank- I’m in marketing, so one of my first projects was creating a radio spot. My background is writing, so I ended up writing the script over the course of a week or so, having it approved, and then getting it to air within two weeks that I started working on the project. Seeing one of your projects come to life in such a short amount of time, and being entrusted to create that and get it to market is something that I hadn’t experienced until I came to Fremont Bank. And seeing something that you’ve created actually having an impact on the business was something that was fantastic, and it was one stand-out experience for me.
How has Fremont Bank allowed you to succeed in your career?
You know; I will say that Fremont Bank is the first company that I’ve come to where I feel that I can spend the rest of my career. A lot of other companies feel like stop-gaps; they feel like places you can build your resume, but at Fremont bank, it's kind of a place where you want to stay and remain at, because of everything that you are provided with. All the resources, all the help, and all the trust that management places in you is something you feel like you can parlay into a career at Fremont Bank that’ll last a lifetime.
