Fremont Bank's Brian Hughes Named YMCA Volunteer
of the Year
FREMONT, California - November 12, 2009 - Fremont Bank, a leading full-service community bank in Northern California, is proud to announce that the Fremont/Newark YMCA honored Brian Hughes as its Volunteer of the Year during the YMCA of the East Bay Annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner on Wednesday, October 21st.
“Brian is an outstanding ambassador and advocate for the YMCA.
Beyond his role on our Board of Managers, he was instrumental in our
success this year through fundraising and promoting the YMCA in community-focused
projects,” said David Hembree, executive director of the Fremont/Newark
branch of the YMCA of the East Bay.
Hughes was influential in expanding the popular YMCA Kid City program
at the 2009 Fremont Festival of the Arts, and could be seen driving
the Fremont/Newark YMCA entry in the Fourth of July parade. His latest
project is chairing for the 2010 Annual Partners Campaign to raise
funds to send children to YMCA summer camp and other programs for
children and families.
“I’m always thinking about helping out where I can,”
said Hughes, who serves as Manager of Nonprofit Relationships at Fremont
Bank. “Linking people and helping them find new ways to get
to their goals is important to me. It’s just part of doing the
right thing.”
