Associate Spotlight: Sandeep Kaur Heerey

For this month’s Associate Spotlight, we focus on one of our invaluable project management colleagues. This “California girl” is a hip-hop lover, snack connoisseur and asset across the bank. Join us in getting to know Sandeep Kaur Heerey a little bit more.

How long have you worked at Fremont Bank, and what do you do here?

I have worked at Fremont bank for almost four years. I started out as an analyst; however, I am now a project manager working with various teams across the bank. I help teams focus on their committed project scope, timeline, and budgets to deliver successful projects. I am also the scrum master for our Dotcom and EDW teams, which means I am there for them to remove blockers, coach on agile practices, and assist the product owners with their product backlogs.

What do you enjoy the most about your job?

I get most excited when I get to manage projects that will introduce new technologies to improve our client experience. I have always been keen on adapting to new technology, especially when there will be process improvements.

What’s your greatest strength as a business professional?

My greatest strengths as a business professional are communication and coordination. I am not only able to communicate well with my peers, but also with our executive teams and vendor partners. I make it a priority to build lasting partnerships with every individual on each project I am involved in. As far as coordination, I carefully plan and monitor throughout the project life cycle to ensure that the team and I meet our commitments.

What are your top three favorite 90s hip-hop artists or groups?

Hands down, 2Pac, Snoop Dogg, and Ice Cube! I am a California girl, and the ‘90s were just a golden age for rap music. The music made these days just does not compare.

What's your favorite go-to snack?

If I am being good, which is rare, an apple … but usually the purple bag of Doritos — Spicy Sweet Chili flavor. They are so good! Have you tried them?
