“Top Bay Area Workplace” prepares for increased lending, job growth in 2013
FREMONT, Calif. March 7, 2013 - Fremont Bank, a leading full-service community bank in California, has opened a new facility in Livermore to meet the growing demand for its residential and commercial lending services. Following a record year in 2012, during which earnings grew 75 percent, the bank is preparing for increased community lending and expects to add more local jobs in 2013.
Fremont Bank's residential lending exceeded $7 billion in loans funded in 2012, and its commercial lending revenue rose nearly 37 percent to $221 million last year. According to Chris Olson, the bank's chief operating officer, the new facility is needed to expand operations and house additional loan underwriters and processors, who will help the bank improve efficiency and keep pace with increased demand for its residential and commercial loans.
“Last year was a tremendous year of growth for the bank. We helped thousands of residents purchase or refinance their homes and gave numerous local businesses the capital needed to grow and succeed. In the process, we filled more than 400 job openings,” said Olson, noting that Fremont Bank is ranked as a “Top Bay Area Workplace” by the Bay Area News Group. “We are committed to even greater community lending in 2013, and anticipate adding more quality jobs to the local economy,” he said.
Located at 2580 Shea Center Drive in Livermore, Fremont Bank's new facility will house 110 associates, most of whom are loan underwriters and processors for the bank's residential and commercial lending divisions.
