A 75-year-old San Leandro community institution got a 21st-century transformation, thanks, in part, to a $350,000 grant from Fremont Bank Foundation. The Boys & Girls Clubs of San Leandro now has a revitalized—and renovated—Teen Center and Community Hub that will serve 2,500+ young people annually, ages 5 to 19. The updated space will allow youth to explore essential life skills through state-of-the-art opportunities such as 3-D printing, digital illustration, a music studio with a sound booth, video editing, photography, and more.

The Club’s colorful and inviting refurbished facility, located at 401 Marina Boulevard in San Leandro, will be an Innovation Station, a collaboration to help address societal needs and enhance the Club’s mission to inspire and enable all young people to realize their full potential and become productive citizens. The Foundation was a key funder of the Club’s Vision 2020 Capital Campaign, helping to make a direct contribution to our neighbors in San Leandro and surrounding areas. The Club’s locations have served more than 70,000 youth since it opened in 1947, providing a place for true work in business skill building, technology, art, and life skills.
