- Record all transactions in your account register, including deposits, checks issued, ATM withdrawals, debit card purchases, and automatic bill payments.
- Keep your account register current.
- Balance your checkbook at least once a month.
Preventing Overdraft and Non-sufficient Fund (NSF) Fees:
- An NSF fee occurs when you do not have enough available funds in your account to pay for a transaction.
- Some card transactions may not post to your account until several days later. Make sure you have enough money in your account before you make a withdrawal or purchase
- Fees reduce the balance in your account. You will be responsible for repaying any overdrawn balance and fees Link your savings account as overdraft protection, or apply for an Overdraft Line of Credit*. With overdraft protection, available funds from your savings account or line of credit are automatically transferred to your checking account if you should overdraw your account. Transfer and other fees may apply if you use this service. See your account agreements for information.
- NSF fees are charged per item/transaction and come out of your account the day of the NSF activity
