Fremont Bank Introduces Convenient, Paperless ATMs
New ATMs offer ‘no envelope’ intelligent deposits, print check images on receipt, and count and verify cash deposits—while minimizing paper waste
FREMONT, California - April 6, 2009 - Fremont Bank, a leading and innovative full-service community bank in Northern California, recently introduced a state of the art sophisticated automated teller machine (ATM) that offers the Bank’s clients a simple way to make ‘no envelope’ deposits, scan checks, count/verify cash deposits, and print check images on receipts. The ATMs will also provide clients same-day deposit processing up to 7:00 PM, Monday through Friday—providing clients additional time to make transactions.
“We trust our valued clients will find these 24/7 ATMs to be a fast and convenient way to make both check and cash deposits,” says Fremont Bank’s Chief Operating Officer Chris Olson. “Our migration to paperless ATMs also corresponds with Fremont Bank’s Earth-friendly efforts to minimize waste.”
How the New ATMs Work
- Deposit checks or cash without an envelope.
- For checks: A Fremont Bank client enters the check amount and inserts the check(s), one at a time, into the deposit slot.
- For cash: A Fremont Bank client inserts up to 30 bills into the cash deposit slot. The ATM reads, verifies and counts the amount on each bill.
- Verifying deposits on-screen.
- For checks: A Fremont Bank client will see the scanned image, the deposited check and amount entered. The ATM also adds up the amount of all checks deposited.
- For cash: The ATM automatically sorts, verifies and counts each denomination of bill deposited. A Fremont Bank customer will see counts and totals on-screen.
- Smart receipt.
- A Fremont Bank client will see the image of each deposited check right on the receipt, as well as details of the number and denominations of the cash deposited.
Fremont Bank clients will also be able to make withdrawals at any Allpoint Network ATM without paying a surcharge. There are over 500 ATMs located throughout the Bay Area and 35,000 nationwide.
