Fremont Bank Partners With KGO Radio For Thanksgiving Charities Drive
Partnership enables online donations; benefiting San Francisco’s homeless and hungry
FREMONT, California - November 21, 2008 - Fremont Bank, the Bay Area’s most progressive full service community bank, is proud to partner with KGO Newstalk AM 810 for its Thanksgiving Charities Drive to help San Francisco’s homeless and hungry during these challenging times.
The partnership with Fremont Bank will allow KGO Radio the opportunity to offer convenient online donation capabilities—with expenses covered by Fremont Bank. Online donations can be made at www.kgoradio.com. All funds raised are split evenly and given directly to the service providers.
The drive is taking place now and culminates with a live KGO Radio broadcast from St. Anthony’s Dining Room (121 Golden Gate Avenue, San Francisco) on Thanksgiving Day. Talk Show Host Gil Gross will be the voice of the Thanksgiving Charities Drive.
KGO Radio is expecting the number of homeless and hungry to rise considerably this year due to the current economic conditions.
“We have always been committed to helping the communities we serve in any way we can,” says Fremont Bank’s CEO Brad Anderson. “We’re honored to partner with KGO Radio to help the underserved and deserving members of our community, and encourage others to donate their time and resources to KGO Radio’s Thanksgiving Charities Drive.”
History
Twenty years ago, KGO Radio began Thanksgiving Charities Drive to initially raise money for St. Anthony’s Dining Room. Since then, the radio station has expanded the beneficiaries to include St. Vincent De Paul (Oakland), Sacred Heart Community Service (San Jose) and Fresh Start (Walnut Creek).
More than $4 million has been contributed over the past 19 years—including last year’s record-breaking $500,000 donation total. KGO receives literally thousands of envelopes of all denominations—from $1 to $5000. This year, donations can be made online at www.kgoradio.com.
